MARIE LORENZ, another artist who lives in the house, which is kind of like an artist commune, happens by. Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |
there are alot of handmade paper cut-outs guarding the ground floor of the house. Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |

everything seems to bear witness & imprint to the various artists who have passed through the house at one time, or another. Brian Belott has lived in this house, so has 'the brother' - Andy Hershey still does, and it's believed Melissa Brown, who has her studio on the ground floor, is the woman with the keys. Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |
its actually pretty cleaned up - this house is notorious for throwing some of the downtown art scene's most rugged, hard driving parties, esp when friends from RHODE ISLAND, or the artist collective, DEARRAINDROP drop by - the parties go on for 3 days, or more, and then everybody needs to crash for at least a week to recover. Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |
MARIE LORENZ invites us to come check out her studio. Marie is responsible for some of the most recent & hugest parties, which she calls .. inspired by her love for ships, sailing and water .. come to a ..'Nautical Waste'. Greenpoint, NYC, Nov 22, 2005 |

MARIE LORENZ leads us thru a beaded doorway. Her studio, as befits a ship lover, is neat as a pin, and occupies the front quarter of the ground floor. Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |
MARIE LORENZ, in her workplace/studio with all her supplies stowed away shipshape in the huge cupboard, behind her. Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |

Marie did not have a project in progress when we happened by, but we did spy a detailed model of an old sailing vessel, up in the rafters. Marie Lorenz studio visit, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |

MARIE LORENZ, workplace/studio, tall masted sailing ship model, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Nov 22, 2005 |
