FILE THIS UNDER: ROBERT GREENWALD is a RIP-OFF ARTIST/or/PEOPLE In GLASS HOUSES SHOULDN’T THROW STONES/or/JIM KRANTZ we REALLY know why you can’t stomach RICHARD PRINCE !
(more on JIM KRANTZ and RICHARD PRINCE – STEALING HIS MARLBORO COWBOY – PHOTOS, blowing them up, changing them not a pixel, calling them his own and laughing all the way to the bank. . . posting – up next – if you saw the RANDY KENNEDY ARTICLE – IN THE NEW YORK TIMES, that came out today, THURSDAY, DEC 6, 2007, FRONT PAGE – ARTS SECTION, YOU KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ‘BOUT – IF YOU’RE IN MIAMI – GET IT !!!)
ABOVE: PHOTO BY NANCY SMITH – FIRST POSTED JUNE 9, 2005/artloversnewyork.com
CAPTION: MARIE-JOSEE KRAVIS, the new President of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) and HENRY KRAVIS attend the NEO RAUCH opening, ‘Renegaten’ at DAVID ZWIRNER GALLERY, NYC, MAY 9, 2005
see: the JUNE 9, 2005 REPORT
and posted, again: MARCH 20, 2006
. . was ripped off by ROBERT GREENWALD, that is: used without permission, in his film/clip: ‘THE WAR ON GREED, STARRING THE HOMES OF HENRY KRAVIS’.
Gimme a break – if you’re gonna pose as a “brave new world” protester, at least have some basic production ethics in your own backyard.
ROBERT GREENWALD / RIP-OFF ARTIST, attacks HENRY KRAVIS – what a joke !!!! Basically GREENWALD is a real wanna-be with nothing original to say, and fills the clip with insipid ROGER MOORE imitations and countless photo stills – that are not of his own making – and you’ve really got to wonder just how many of those photos – are bona fide copyright approved images.
talk about aggressive “borrowing” to further one’s own stake. talk about greed.
the only thing that separates GREENWALD from his target is the number of zeros in their bank account. and, at least Henry seems to be following the, perhaps unfortunate, but the laws of the current business landscape , . . while GREENWALD steals his content, and is, bottomline: really an intellectual property/copyright thief.
SO, – MEANWHILE BACK IN NYC – not only is it (mildly) snowing – but lots of cultural discontent is bubbling to the surface !! On the Front Page of the ARTS SECTION, NEW TIMES, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2007 – you have the RANDY KENNEDY article, ‘If the Copy Is an Artwork, Then What’s The Original’ – exposing the wanton exploitation of JIM KRANTZ’S MARLBORO AD CAMPAIGN PHOTOS by RICHARD PRINCE.
and on PAGE C4 of the BUSINESS SECTION, of the NEW YORK TIMES of the same date, (with a lead-in on the FRONT PAGE of the BUSINESS SECTION – proclaiming: “A FILMMAKER’S LUMP OF COAL FOR KRAVIS”) you have an article, and very substantial one, almost 1/2 page with 2 photos) by ANDREW ROSS SORKIN, titled: ‘A MOVIE AND PROTESTERS SINGLE OUT HENRY KRAVIS’ & subtitled: ‘MAKING AN ISSUE OF PRIVATE EQUITY WEALTH’ on the movie, ‘The War on Greed, Starring the Homes of Henry Kravis’ – directed by ROBERT GREENWALD – which would be more appropriately titled – . . . and starring stolen photos off the internet. At least Henry bought the homes.
ROBERT GREENWALD & BRAVE NEW FILMS – gotta love his company’s name –
RULE #1 – if you’re gonna be a big time protester – before you blast your product over the web on – YouTube – get copyright authorization for the photographic images, you’ve lifted – in complete disregard of copyright law – – or be exposed for the fake you really are.
. . it might be raining dollars in MIAMI – but it’s snowing DISCONTENT with MEGA BUCKS & GREED – in art world product – specifically the property rights of photographers – here in NYC !!!! . . gotta love that NYC – EAST COAST EDGE – !! – it’s the one thing we’ve got over MIAMI – any day – guess, that’s why they’ve got to import the art !!!!! and why we love to go there to party – for one weekend !! but, ultimately, you have to give it up for MIAMI – MIAMI treats its visiting artists RIGHT !! lots of freedom, lots of sunshine, and lots of money – and, that’s why they love to go there.
see: the FILM clip here – warongreed.org
and jump up and down – when you see the artlovers rip off !!!! maybe the planet will roll over.
. . . and yo, isn’t that an artnet photo, of MARIE JOSE & HENRY KRAVIS – in there as well – probably unattributed and posted without permission, as well.
and forget the, quote unquote high road, like JIM KRANTZ, seems to be taking – that generation of photographers, that wonders ..”if they look like idiots” for not demanding copyright protection – is way over, (and, yes! Jim – you do like look like an idiot) – esp with the immediacy of the internet – you lift the photo – be prepared to be called on it.
YOU’RE A THIEF. YOU ARE A FAKE.
Brave New Films – yeah, right ! brave for what – ripping off copyrights on your content, for one thing … brave new world, f**king green new world – you most certainly are not !
YO !!! HENRY – if you want to take them down, contact me. hypocrisy defining greed – is a worst case scenario.
as if, . . ROBERT GREENWALD doesn’t want a big bank account. oh yeah, he wants to change the world, make it better, I forgot. just on someone else’s dime.
one thing’s for sure – LAWYERS gonna be the new big artist designer/accessory – !!

AQUA HOTEL/PHOTO/DAVI RUSSO/COURTESY: AQUA ART MIAMI
THE AQUA ART FAIR MIAMI, which takes its name from its venue – THE AQUA HOTEL – looks to be
distinguishing itself from among the ranks of the many new art fairs.
Having grown considerably, in street rep, regarding edge & freshness of offerings; and the number of participating galleries – this year, the AQUA ART FAIR takes place in 2 simultaneous locations, one at the original site, the AQUA HOTEL in SOUTH BEACH, and at a new site, AQUA WYNWOOD, in a warehouse in Miami’s gallery district.
“This year we’ll feature 44 galleries at the AQUA HOTEL, with more than half of the dealers being new to our fair. Based on the west coast, fair organizers have made it their mission to promote noteworthy programs in their region as well as the greater USA . . . Approximately a third of the galleries are from SEATTLE, PORTLAND, SAN FRANCISCO, and LOS ANGELES . . .”
the website goes on to state:
“The hotel itself is a classic South Beach boutique hotel . . . located within walking distance of ART BASEL . . Many hotel beach bars and cocktail events are close by and the glorious beach itself is just a block away . . . An AQUA shuttle will run in a continual loop between the hotel and ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH each day during regular event hours, stopping near the Botanical Garden across from the Convention Center entrance D.”
