MY BAD !! – it’s HORTON !!! – but I got the ‘LOVE’ part right – didn’t I !!!!!!!
and, actually a HORTLE – is for real. well rock my soul.
a HORTLE is a predatory WHIPRAY, a . . . species of STING RAY !! and it sounds pretty damn ugly, too.
found in the shallow waters off southern NEW GUINEA, it grows to 28 in. across (!!) and “has a heart-shaped (!!) pectoral fin disc with a long, pointed snout and minute eyes. It has a wide dorsal band of dermal denticles extending from in front of the eyes to the tail, as well as scattered sharp denticles on the snout.” (omg . . . u-g-l-y.)
“The underside of the disc is a distinctive bright yellow in color . . . ” (!!) wouldn’t you just – know it.
