the art is found on the grounds, in the water, hung from barn rafters / and even inside the old white farmhouse.
and, YES !!
there was world class !! swimming !! and wading, en plein air !!
so bring your . . bathing suit !! or skinny dip – suit yourself !!
no clorine, farm-fresh cool water, not too freezing, at all !!
. . and beautiful sky, fluffy white clouds and mountains overhead.
nope, it didn’t rain.
friendly people. BBQ chicken, purple cabbage slaw & corn / refreshing drink.
JON KESSLER, pretty much over-size, life-size ?
people were calling it: Winnie-the-Pooh, on a float.
so, just because it wasn’t as mad, wild, crazy & over-the-top anarchy-filled, as the early, ‘vintage’ BOBO events, doesn’t mean, it wasn’t wildly . . WONDERFUL !!
times . . change. head-spaces change, and JESSE GREENBERG was in charge of the art, not BOBO.
BOBO did the performances & music.
and, anyways: praise the man . . who can change.

I’m thinking, instead of LSD, it should have proclaimed: OPIOIDS.
and let’s leave it – at that. makes the 70s, the US army, CIA & Baba Ram Dass – look good.
but, this was a young kid friendly event.

Oil paint, spray paint, dirt, and even wastewater and pollution act as printmaking materials that are used on paper, wood and canvas. Working en plein air from a rowboat, STO marbles the pollution floating in some of the most toxic bodies of water in America.”

‘TSUNAMINAGASHI: MARBLING WORKSHOP with STO LEN’
STO . .
will be giving a workshop on ‘Suminagashi’ or ‘floating Ink’ – a paper marbling process that originated in Japan with the Shinto monks in the 12th Century. this process produces unique, or one-of-a-kind / mono-prints by painting patterns directly onto the surface of the water with ink, laying down a piece of paper on top, & then removing after a few seconds.
STO will also give a talk about his own ‘marbling’ explorations both in the studio, and on-site / as in: on water in a boat !!
“he will then guide us through the process, where we will make multiple prints on paper.”
